What is Wharton’s jelly?

Wharton’s Jelly is a gelatinous substance within the umbilical cord that is a potential source of highly primitive Mesenchymal Stem Cells.
That contains mucoid connective tissue, fibroblast-like cells, and a matrix of numerous primitive stem cells that can be used for treatment of various organ and connective tissue diseases.

WJ-MSCs:

The Wharton’s jelly in cord tissue comprises super power Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs), the multipotent stromal cells that can differentiate into a variety of cell types, including: osteoblasts (bone cells), chondrocytes (cartilage cells), myocytes (muscle cells) and adipocytes (fat cells). Although found in adults tissues especially in bone marrow, the MSCs in WJ (Wharton’s jelly) are the most primitive source with very high regenerative potential.
