Cord Blood Testing

Before we store your baby's cord blood for the long term, we test it. Testing is how we confirm the sample is healthy, viable and ready to be preserved.

What we check

• Cell count, which tells us how many stem cells the sample contains.
• Viability, which confirms the cells are alive and healthy.
• Screening for infection and blood typing, which help confirm the sample is safe to store and suitable for future use.

These checks are part of the science behind the service. They give you confidence that your sample was not simply stored, but properly assessed first. We share your results with you, so you have a clear record of what was preserved.
